A Bottom Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity

The City of Brookings is hosting Strong Towns founder and president Charles Marohn.  Charles – known as “Chuck” to friends and colleagues – is a professional engineer and a land-use planner with a decade of experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning, both from the University of Minnesota.

Chuck will highlight some of the most powerful stories in his book, Strong Towns: A Bottom Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity, and use those insights to highlight a path of community prosperity that’s as unique as Brookings.  Using an innovative, hands-on approach, this presentation showcases why so many towns in North America are struggling financially despite decades of robust growth.  

This presentation is part community conversation, part lecture from an expert, and the catalyst we need to become financially stronger.
