BROOKINGS AREA UNITED WAY SUPPORTS...
The Born Learning Trails consist of 10 interactive signs that offer fun, active learning to encourage play & exploration. The primary goal of the trails are to create free, evidence-based developmental learning experiences to increase school readiness for children within Brookings County.
The CPR Reimbursement Program allows nonprofit employees the opportunity to get trained in CPR for free. By providing this opportunity to nonprofit professionals, it will better equip them to be better prepared in case of an emergency.
The Delta Dental Mobile Program allows anyone in Brookings County up to the age of 21 to receive dental care at no-cost to the individual or family. The dental van visits Brookings County each year for four weeks; appointments can be made by dialing “2-1-1”.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides one high-quality, age-appropriate book each month to children up to 5 years old in Brookings County. These books are delivered directly to their door at no-cost to the family.
Brookings Area United Way helps support over 35 other nonprofits in Brookings County known as their "funded partners". Each of these organizations offer beneficial services to the area.
The Senior Boxes Program provides a free, pre-packaged box of non-perishable food to adults ages 60 and over who meet the income guidelines. These boxes are designed to supplement nutrients typically lacking in an older adult’s diet & is available to Brookings County residents.
SingleCare is a prescription discount card. With the SingleCare card, there are no forms to fill out, no waiting period and no registration required. The card is available as a mobile application or reusable coupon on FDA-approved medicines at most pharmacies in Brookings County.
Brookings Area United Way offers free mental health & suicide preventions trainings like Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, & Question, Persuade, Refer. Along with our Resilient Community initiative, Adverse Childhood Experiences trainings are also available.
