Party on the Porch

McCrory Gardens’s Party on the Porch is a free, family-friendly Sunday afternoon concert series held throughout September. Guests can relax in the Terrace Garden, enjoy live local music, and purchase food and refreshments from SDSU Catering while taking in the gardens. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a laid-back afternoon outdoors.

This years line-up

 

September 6: Snow and Green (Gary Snow and Larry Green)

Reunited since 2013, college music partners Larry Green and Gary Snow perform iconic ’60s and ’70s classics. Their acoustic pieces feature rich vocal harmonies honoring James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beatles.

 

September 13: Scott Olson and Chuck Hendrickson of the Prairie Groove Band

Composed of four musicians with backgrounds in symphonic, combo, and academic music. Known to have entertaining shows designed to be family-friendly and relaxed.

 

September 20: Across the Missouri (Tim and Wendy)

Minimalist acoustics focusing on guitar, vocal harmonies, and light harmonica or mandolin. Known for their imagery and acts of storytelling through music.

 

September 27: The Oak Lake String Band

A popular acoustic bluegrass and folk quartet. Known for being lively, community-focused, and rich in traditional acoustic instrumentation.
