Mental Health Coalition

In 2018, Avera Behavioral Health of Brookings, South Dakota State University, Brookings Counseling Solutions and The Brookings School District worked with SD Department of Social Services to complete an Opioid Use/Misuse Needs Assessment throughout Brookings County. Out of the interviews completed, multiple stakeholders identified the need for a coalition focused on Behavioral Health and thus the Brookings County Mental Health Coalition was started. The Brookings County Mental Health Coalition completed a community strategic plan in 2018, and reviews this annually. All are welcome to attend, the Coalition meets monthly the third Wednesday of the month at noon.
